Question: How long will my show take?
Answer:Our basic party packages are approximately 1 hour in duration. The performer will arrive 20-30 minutes prior to the show start time to get everything set up for the show. If you decided to add on any of our Grand-Finales to your show, these will add on time to our show depending on which Finale you choose. A Rocket Launch will take 10-15 minutes, whereas our Potions in Motion will easily add on an additional 20-25 minutes to your show.
Question: How far in advance do I need to book my party?
Answer:You can fill out an online request form by clicking on the "BOOK NOW" sign below. We will try to respond to your request within 1 business day. You can also call us and schedule your party over the phone if you prefer. We require a $50.00 booking-fee and accept Visa and MasterCard.
Question:What time can I have my party?
Answer:On Saturdays and Sundays we typically have set party times of 11:30 a.m. (or anytime earlier), 2:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. (or anytime later). However, we are often able to accommodate other time requests depending on any other bookings already on our schedule. Parties can be also be scheduled Monday thru Friday at any time. All dates and times are subject to availability.
Question:Do I need to know the exact number of kids attending my party to book it?
Answer:No. All we need is an estimate of the number of children you expect to attend. We ask that you plan for the largest number of children expected. On the day of the party, you will be charged only for the number of children that actually attend.
Question:Do you have any themed parties?
Answer: Currently, our themes revolve around science. If you have another party theme, we can notify the Performer, and he/she will do his/her best to incorporate your theme into the experiments and language that is used. Magic Science is currently working on offering other party themes focusing on art, magic, and a host of other topics as well! These will be posted when available.
Question:When will the Performer arrive?
Answer: The Performer will arrive approx 20-30 minutes early to set up. He/She will be ready to perform the show at the time you booked. it is best to start your party at least 30 minutes before your Imagination Show is scheduled to start, to ensure that most of your guests have arrived. Oftentimes the Performer is unable to delay the start time due to their having other parties to perform that day.
Question:What kind of space is needed?
Answer:The Performer will need a 4-6 foot square table. We ask that you have enough space for the performer and for your guests to be comfortable as well. The children can be seated on the floor or on chairs facing the table, with about 4-5 feet of open space between them and the performer's table.
Question:How much space is needed for the rocket launch?
Answer:The performer will need a medium to large sized yard or comparable open space free from power lines or other obstacles to launch the rocket. If you are unsure whether you have sufficient space, you can book the rocket launch and on the day of the party the performer will assess the safety of the rocket launch. In the event it is determined to be unsafe to launch the rocket the performer will not charge you for the launch.
Question:Will I have to provide the Performer with anything?
Answer:We will need access to water for set up and cleanup and electricity for some of the experiments with the exception of the outdoor party which does not require electricity. Please let us know if your party location does not provide either of these. We will review all requirements for your show at the time of booking as well.
Question:Once I have scheduled my party, can I make changes to it later?
Answer: Any changes to your party must be made three days prior to the party, and are subject to availability.
Question:What if it rains the day of my party?
Answer: If it rains on the day of your outdoor birthday party, the performer will call to see if there is an alternative indoor location to conduct the party.
Question:Can I have the phone number of my performer?
Answer: We do not provide the personal contact information of our performers. However if you would like to leave a message for your performer, you may contact our office. If you need any assistance during after-hours, we have an emergency contact number (808) 463-5699 and we are happy to assist you. For normal booking questions, please contact us during normal office hours.
Question:For what age groups are your parties appropriate?
Answer: Our parties are appropriate for children age 4 thru 12 years of age. Younger siblings usually watch but are too young to actively participate and should not make take home projects. We determine the number of attendees based on the children between that ages of 4 and 12 years of age. If you have any children aged 3-5 yrs old, we do have Preschool Parties available as well.
Question:When do I pay?
Answer: We require a $50.00 booking fee to reserve your party date. At the end of your party you will pay the performer the remaining balance with any adjustments that need to be made. You can pay with cash, check or give authorization to charge the credit card we have on file.
Question:What is your policy on tipping?
Answer: If you feel your performer did a good job, then tipping is greatly appreciated.
